7th trip of 2024
Poole Knobs
COE Campground, LaVergne, TN
September 15 - 18
Another Corp Of Engineers Campground and it was close to home
Steve, Debbie, and Murph joined us and was located on the adjacent site #60
We all ate and drank too much, played games, and Debbie even brought me a Birthday Cake
Site #59 was pull through however, it was not level and we had to work a bit to get the trailer level
We did have direct access to Percy Priest Lake and was able to launch/recover our kayak
Heidi and I kayaked along the eastern shoreline until we got hot and thirsty
This park was disappointing in several ways, the bath houses were not readily accessible from our end of the campground
The trails have be neglected and were overgrown and the overall condition of park was fair at best
We did use our ebikes and Bonnie-Roo enjoyed the ride as well in her bike trailer
OTA TV and Cell phone service was excellent. Use of our cell phone hotspots provided adequate WIFI
The weather was absolutely perfect. Light breeze to no wind, low humidity, and the day temps were in the 80s, nights low 70s
We did a camp fire, every and tested the heat shield/diverter on the solo stove. It worked well.
Bonnie-Roo and Murph played together and watched the squirrels until they were so exhausted they crashed taking naps
The sunsets were amazing and we did stay up long enough to view the super moon and partial lunar eclipse
