9th trip of 2024
Cages Bend
COE Campground, Gallatin, TN
October 20 - 23
Another Corp Of Engineers Campground and also close to home
Steve, Debbie, and Murph joined us and was located on the adjacent site #14
Site # 13 was positioned on the point of Cages Bend and the Cumberland River.
Erin, Aiden, and Avery joined us Monday afternoon and evening and they had a great
time enjoying the playground, and running around outside
Once again food and drink was plentiful, Snacks and apps early afternoon,
followed by home chili on Monday. Hot Crab Dip, veggies, chips, crackers, and cookies
followed by Chicken Pot Pie and Multi-Berry Blossoms with Ice cream for desert.
We played Ladder Ball, Corn Hole and Spike Ball and just enjoyed the spectacular view.
Bonnie got to try out her new dog trailer that is towed by the E-bikes.
She thoroughly approved cruising around as she had her own personal chauffer.
There was 1 lonely barge that transited past us in the afternoon, and returned later that evening.
OTA TV and Cell phone service was pretty good. Use of our cell phone hotspots provided adequate WIFI
The weather was absolutely perfect. Light breeze to no wind, low humidity, and the day temps were in the 70s-80s, nights low 50s
We did a camp fire every evening. Both dogs shared the double chairs and wrapped in their "BLANKEES"
Bonnie-Roo and Murph watched the squirrels until both of them had to take afternoon naps in the sun.
The sunsets were not directly visible, but right at twilight the water turned really cool colors of orange, purple, blue, green, and yellow,
unfortunately the photos do not show that very well.
