Last trip of 2023
Old Stone Fort
State Park, Manchester, TN
December 3 - 6
We took a chance on the weather and we were rewarded with great weather, Sunny Skies and temps in the 50-60s.
The park was practically vacant with only a few other souls taking advantage of the park
Once Steve/Debbie and Heidi/myself got camp setup, we ventured to Common Johns Brew House.
We were pleasantly surprised by the large selections of beer on tap as well as the local talent that showed up for "Open Mic" night.
Sunday evening we sat around the camp fire and then Debbie fixed a very nice comfort food dinner.
Monday Heidi and I spent the day enjoying the peace and quiet of the park and did hike across the bridge to the museum and river overlook
We made sliders salad and snacks for everyone and chilled out by the fire once again
Tuesday, We ventured out and walked the 2 nature trails adjacent to the campground. Rode the electric bike a little but was too cold for Heidi
Tuesday afternoon we decided to have an early dinner outside, which included NY strip steaks, roasted potatoes, and bourbon apple salad
Various alcoholic beverages were consumed around the campfire until we exhausted the last of the fire wood.
Bonnie assumed squirrel and deer watching duty, even though she had to wear the cone of shame from a previous encounter with the neighbors chickens
Wednesday morning was a brisk 35 degrees and windy. Packed up and headed home to which most likely will conclude our 2023 camping season
