1st trip of 2024
Rock Island State Park, Rock Island, TN

  March 19 - 22

Shake down trip of 2024 camp season, we had good weather, Sunny Skies and temps in the 50-70s.

The park was practically vacant with only a few folks with their fishing boats and some long term tenants.

Heidi and were exhausted so the first day we set up camp and just decompressed.

We drove past the TVA power station and dam.  Due to spring run-off the gorge was closed to pedestrian access.

Day 2 we ventured out to see the Texas Fast Water Rescue teams train at the base of twin falls.

BONNIE-ROO had her first bike trailer experience and she did really great with only 1 squirrel moment

Day 3 we explored several of the hiking trails 1 of which was called the moonshine trail.

The remaining trails were closed and our impression was that they looked pretty sketchy.

Jess and Steve joined us for the evening camp fire the last night we were there and it really

nice spending time with them
