Salt Lick Creek
COE Campground, Near Gainesboro TN
July 7 - 10
Enjoyed another Corp Of Engineers Park, Salt Lick Creek COE Campground.
It was very similar to Defeated Creek which was only 14 miles away .
More than 100 sites most have water views if not water front. Once again our site had plenty of green grass and easy water/kayak access.
The park had plenty of grassy areas, a swim beach, boat ramp, and several playgrounds throughout the park.
The only complaints were poor Cell phone service and WIFI was available only at the guard shack and the boat ramp.
We acquired several indoor/outdoor rugs to minimize dragging the small gravel that covered the parking pad into the camper.
Steve and Debbie along with their Grandson Matthew had the adjacent site.
We ventured into Gainesboro and discovered a cool distillery, had lunch, topped everything off with frozen custard
Besides being really hot and humid, we did get to use our e-bikes,kayaks and took advantage of the Swimming area.
Managed to have 1 evening with a camp fire, even though it was still in the high 80's.
Even Bonnie was content to watch the squirrels and ducks in the shade or the comfort of the A/C inside the camper
